I modeled an amazing printed tunic for Kristie Metcalf at the RAW Seattle Fashion show this past thursday. She does her own prints, was on Rhianna’s reality tv show, and just so happens to be an amazing person…GAH I KNOW! Paula Yahn did all of our hair and make ups and I had such a great time with all these ladies! This was backstage before we went out and our line up! Just dropped this first 4 vintage guitar straps in a limited run at High Voltage music! I have a LIITTTTLE more of this fabric. I’ve been working on producing these for awhile, so I hope they decorate and some guitars well!
I tell students in my Draping class at the New York Fashion Academy about different types of dress forms to buy and use. My personal favorite in quality is this company “Wolff Dress Forms” formerly in NY, now NJ… but this is how theirs are made. Awesome video. One day when I’m a big kid I’ll have one! For now I’ll just continue to comb craigslist and ebay…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qa16nXcsc_k
Made this inspired Material girl dress for my fabulous cousin, Jenny George and main mama of Dancing on the Valentine! This years theme was Madonna, and all the bands were pretty great. Photobooth photos by Ben Haley (pictured above).
Millie Vixen “Future Beauty” inspired collection presented at the Seattle Art Museum September 2013 via NYFA. Models Holly Hodson, Brittany Forney, Jessica Starling, and Kay Whitney. All dresses and accessories made by me! Excited to make more Yuki-onna Dresses (on myself-front, and a different white version on Kay, right)
While I love making garments and patterns, there’s something not quite…instant (gratification-y) enough for me! For a years now, I’ve always said to myself “I need to paint like I used to!” So now…I’ve practicing. I found my watercolor journal and the goal this year is to fill it up. Here’s a look at the latest few.
